| When
people find out about the injustice, mistreatment and cruelty
animals are forced to suffer, many are outraged. But very often
after a while, this outrage turns to a feeling of helplessness
and then finally to denial when they realise how difficult it
is to solve the problem on a large scale. Some people may justify
their passivity by relying on the fact that there are always
greater injustices in the world, many suffered by humans, and
they turn their backs on the situation.

| However
others refuse to accept the situation and they fight to end cruelty
and improve animal welfare, which indirectly helps to improve
people's wellbeing. The more people who unite in this cause, the
more of our aims we can achieve. Here are some suggestions of
ways you can help: |

| 1.
Continue to find out about cruelty to animals in this country,
let people around you know what's happening and complain to the
relevant authorities. A single complaint is usually ignored but
when they amount to thousands, people pay attention. |

If you are in a position to offer a home to a greyhound as a pet,
please get in touch with us. Perhaps you could adopt one and enjoy
their wonderful, loveable characters and offer them the comfortable
retirement they deserve. |

If you think you can offer a suitable home to a greyhound but
you don't want to commit yourself as you're not sure that you
can care for it for the rest of its life, you could foster a greyhound
temporarily in your home. By fostering, you would help a greyhound
to gradually adjust to home life, as most greyhounds have only
ever lived in cages and competed on the track. |
